Welcome to 2024, everyone. I want to start the year with an article I wrote with Stefan Schnabl on Built In called "5 Ways AI Will Evolve Product Management in 2024." I've been a fan of Stefan's work with The Product Insider and reached out to him after I published "Gamification for Product Excellence," to which he delightfully responded and wrote an article on my work. During that process, we met at Google's office in Chicago and talked about everything in life and product management, from the struggles and opportunities we've had, and what the future holds. The conversation about the future was so enlightening we pitched it to Built-In, and they gave us the green light for a two-part segment. The next part will be published later this month.
As for my perspective on this year, 2024 is poised to be pivotal in AI. It's not just about the flashy allure of Generative AI technologies like ChatGPT and DALL-E. The true game-changers are those who can look beyond the surface, recognizing the profound capabilities of machine learning to personalize, optimize, and anticipate future trends. These are the visionaries who will genuinely shape the trajectory of our industries and redefine the landscape of product management. The journey into 2024 is not just about witnessing AI's evolution; it's about actively participating in it, and I'm excited to be a part of this transformative wave.
